DESCRIPTION
Perma Inject Hydrogel is a polyurethane injection grouting system. It is a single component product. This product reacts with water to form tough flexible polyurethane foam or an elastomeric gel depending upon the amount of water used in reaction. The product can be injected into the concrete of RCC structures using two components pump where resin is one component and the other component is water. Perma Inject Hydrogel is used in areas of heavy leakages, expansion joint filling, cavity filling in structural concrete and for creating screens.
ACTION
When injected in the concrete Perma Inject Hydrogel reacts with water or moisture to form semi-rigid foam or a flexible gel depending upon the quantity of water used. It also fills up all capillaries and honeycombs in the concrete to discourage accumulation of water in these pockets at a later stage. Perma Inject Hydrogel is more suited for heavy engineering applications.
ADVANTAGES
Perma Inject Hydrogel seals leakages in all difficult situations such as basements, tunnels and heavily leakage massive structures.
Perma Inject Hydrogel is free from solvents and fillers. It is resistant to hydrolysis and is suitable for use in potable water tanks.
Perma Inject Hydrogel stops the leakage then and there and only instantly, after injection, there is no waiting period for curing time etc.
DIRECTION FOR USE
Clean the surface to be waterproofed and remove the plaster or loose concrete in the area. Assess the leaky area and decide the injection nozzle pattern. The leakage could be either from a horizontal or from a vertical crack. Drill holes on either side of the crack at an inclination of 45 C inclined towards the centre of the crack at an interval of 8 inches centre to centre Always start from the lowest point and progress upwards. In the drilled holes fix the packers effectively. In weak concrete the drilled holes becomes larger than desired, in such cases the packers may not fit tightly to leak-proof it. If this happens then grout the surrounding of the packers with the stiff consistency paste of Perma Plug.
COMPOSITION
Perma Inject Hydrogel consists of a MDI based solvent free, isocyanate component and will onlyreact when it comes in contact with water to produce foam or gel depending on the portion of water used.
Polymer: water, 1:1 to 1:5 produces
impregnable elastomeric foam
Polymer: water 1: 9 to 1: 15 produces a
highly resilient elastomeric gel.
APPLICATION
1. Heavy Water Leakages
For arresting heavy water leakages use resin and the water in the proportion of 1:1 and inject into the fixed packers at desired interval till the leakage stops.
2. Expansion Joints
Because of good flexibility and adhesion Perma Inject Hydrogel can be used to fill up the expansion joints in the buildings. For this use the resin: water in the ratios of 1:4 or 1:5.
3. Gel Membrane
Because of the low viscosity of the water/polymer mixture. It can be used as a liquid but solidifying gel membrane applied on the positive side of leakage from the accessible negative side. The ratio of hydrogel to water in this application shall be 1:10. This gel fills all voids from the backfill side or from underground side.
4. Masonry Walls
Because of low viscosity with a relatively long pot life Perma Inject Hydrogel can be used to inject in the masonry walls as a vertical barrier to fill voids and joints to safeguard against water entry and spoiling of the paint on the interiors. For this use resin and water in the ratio of 1:12 or 1:13. This can be injected using single component pump.
