SARANG PFC series Towers are field erected, heavy duty counter flow cooling towers . Each cell size can be designed up to 16 x 16 meters , to handle maximum water flow rate of 5000m3/Hr/Cell.
Pultruded FRP structure of the PFC series cooling towers , are completely assembled using SS bolt nutn washers . The Pultruded FRP is recognized as the best structural material for cooling tower construction as it won’t corrode , rot , rust or warp at harsh environment.
TOWER STRUCTURE
Pultruded FRP structural components are used throughout PFC series cooling towers to produce an engineered Frame work of unsurpassed strength, quality, reliability and safety.
Our versatile and efficient , pultruded fiberglass structure is resistant to both chemical and biological attack , & offers an environment friendly alternative , which features no chemical leaching from the structural members into the circulating water.
Each Pultruded FRP members is pre fabricated as per drawings and shipped to site for ready installation . Every Column is anchored to the foundation to obtain highest structural stability.
Our Pultruded FRP members are manufactured confirming to CTI-STD-137 and EN-13706 standard specifications & are classified as self – extinguished and have a flame spread index of 25 or less , as per ASTM E-84-09. In addition , all FRP members are manufactured using FR-Grade Isophthalic resin rich synthetic veil be supplied in S.S 304 / 316 or silicon bronze for sea water applications.
Stainless steel fasteners are used throughout the cooling tower in conjunction with bearing sleeves to minimize fiberglass shear stress in the bolted joints. If any member has to be replaced for any reason, its simple matter of unbolting the structure and adding the new part.
MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT
The mechanical drive package consists of a right angled gear reducer connected to an electric motor via a floating drive shaft. An axial flow fan is mounted on the output shaft of the gear box. The mechanical components are mounted on a torque tube support.
The high efficient fan consists of multiple, manually adjustable pitch FRP blades attached to a hot dip alvanized steel or S.S. hub with S.S. hardware. The fan assemblies are statically balanced at the factory.
The spiral bevel gear reducers are designed in accordance with AGMA standards and sized specially with a minimum 2.5 service factor on the motor nameplate power for longer Gear life. The assembly is equipped with a vibration cut-off switch. Lubrication oil Pipe line of the gear box is extended beyond the fan stack and includes a level indicator, drain, dipstick and fill connections & a low oil cut out switch.
The drive shaft is a single piece galvanized steel or stainless steel or of advance composite material design, connected to flexible, self – aligning couplings. The drive shafts are dynamically balanced to minimize operating vibrations. Each drive shaft is protected with 2 Nos. shaft guards to restrain the shaft in the event of a coupling failure.
Normally, the motor is of the TEFC type with class F insulation, Class B rise, high energy efficient (Eff-1). Nameplate power is selected with a minimum 1.10 safety factor applied to absorbed power at design conditions.
HIGH PERFORMANCE FILM FILLS
Generally, the most efficient film fill made of PVC foils glued or buttoned together to form blocks, which are mounted on Pultruded FRP structural members. The fill covers entire internal plan area of the tower.
Maximum performance fill designs and non clog designs are available for wide range of thermal and water quality requirements. Our Design Engineers evaluate each cooling tower application to select the best fill system with maximum thermal performance and minimum power consumption.
For poor quality water, splash bars, trickle fill, turbo splash fill etc are used.
WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Normally each cell has a FRP header pipe coupled with PVC lateral pipes with non clogging polypropylene nozzles which distribute water evenly over the entire fill surface. The water distribution system requires very little maintenance and nominal operating pump head. Header pipe and lateral pipes are supported and champed on pultruede FRP channel supports.
DRIFT ELIMINATORS
Utilizes PVC 3 – Pass, drift eliminations offer the lowest drift rates in the industry with very low pressure drop, reducing fan power requirements, thus saving energy cost. The drift eliminators are assembled into removable panels using PP lock spacers.
FRP FAN STACK CUM RECOVERY CONE
The aero dynamically designed FRP Fan stack cum recovery cones, are constructed out of heavy ribbed FRP panel segments bolted together. A full air inlet bell mouth is provided for smooth air flow into the fan. The recovery cone flare angle is designed for velocity recovery of 75% of the difference in velocity pressure at fan level & exit of recovery cone. The fan stack is designed for a wind load equivalent to the design wind load of the cooling tower.
FAN DECK
Pultruded FRP, antiskid type deck panels each of 24” wide, interlocked with each other and is bolted with Pultruded FRP tower structure. Normally, the fan deck is designed for uniform load of 300kg/m2.
ARCHITECTURAL TOWER CASING
V-Rib FRP casing panels normally 8 oz / sq. ft. (2.45Kg/m2), are bolted on the exterior surface of the tower structure. These panels are easily openable if required during maintenance, cleaning of fills. The casing panels are conforming to the specifications of CTI – STD – 131.The casing panels are normally of grey or beige colors. Colors of customer’s choice can be offered.
GUARANTEED THERMAL PERFORMANCE
We provide 100% thermal performance guarantee for PFC series cooling towers. We shall certify that tower supplied meets the specified performance conditions when the tower is installed according to plans.
